Tettero

Tettero band jazz funk

The latest recording of the Dutch guitarist Folker Tettero is a remake of the legendary album ‘ Swiss Movement’ by Eddie Harris & Les McCann. The original album with the hitsingle ; Compared to what’ is a live recording from 1969. Tettero made his own live version in 2019. Before that he made 2 albums ‘First’ (2012) and ‘Point of View’ (2014)

For a new record, there are new recordings planned in a trio setting.

Tettero is well known for his blues and funk while playing in several bands like the Amsterdelics, Sugar and Carmen Gomes Inc. He studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and Utrecht.

“In my music as a guitarist I always try to tell a story. My roots are in the blues, but during my career I copied this in all the styles I play.
This rhythm section is grooving behind me for years now. We like to groove, but still want enough freedom to improvise.”
